Western Music Theory

image1688

Music theory is the basis of any music including silence and the way it is extrapolated with the help of music notations.  Because of the ever-expanding conception of what constitutes music, a more inclusive definition could be that music theory is the consideration of any sonic phenomena, including silence, as they relate to music. Theory explains the building blocks of music and music education is incomplete without understanding the building blocks of music.
